Souss-Massa National Park

Located on Morocco’s Atlantic coast, the 33,800-hectare Souss-Massa National Park (Parc National de Souss-Massa) was established in 1991. Its center is at 9°40’W 30°5’N, and it is situated between Agadir to the north and Sidi Ifni to the south. The park’s northern boundary is the estuary of the Oued Souss, while its southern boundary is close to the Oued Massa estuary. Because the northern bald ibis occasionally uses the 30,000 hectares of land close to Aglou, south of the park, as a feeding location, it is also included in the site. The area is a grazed steppe that includes ponds, beaches, and dunes. With certain sections that are rockier, the terrain is mostly sandy.

Tiznit city

Founded in 1881 by Sultan Hassan I, Tiznit, also known as Tiznet (Arabic: تزنيت, romanized: TiznÄ«t), is a town located in the Moroccan province of Souss-Massa on the west coast. In the 2014 Moroccan census, its population was 74,699, making it the capital of Tiznit Province.[1] After Jewish silversmiths settled in the town, it became known as Morocco’s hub for gold and silver handicrafts. Tiznit is renowned for its sabres, daggers, jewelry made of silver, and mints.

On the western side of the Anti-Atlas lies the province of Tiznit. Tiznit is a town full of Imazighn (isoussin), located about 80 kilometers south of Agadir.

El Méchouar Place, the Grand Mosque, and Khalifa Palace are a few of the landmarks that define Tiznit. Five ancient gates, known as Bab Aglou, Bab el Khemis, Bab Targa, Bab el Maader, and Bab Oulad Jerrar, encompass Tiznit’s old Medina. These gates are all of Alawite tradition and have a striking resemblance to the gates of Essaouira.
